Your office staff will receive a personalized orientation, all the tools needed to present CareCredit to your patients, and materials to help you quickly and efficiently process applications for a CareCredit credit card. CareCredit also takes care of billing and your staff can focus on your patients and on other valuable tasks.

Why do I need to accept CareCredit if I already accept general-purpose credit cards?

With CareCredit, your patients or clients can count on a dedicated health and wellness credit card, products, and services they want and need. For purchases of $200 or more they can take advantage of special financing options.*

Is CareCredit widely used?

The CareCredit credit card is accepted by more than 200,000 healthcare providers and select retail locations across the United States, including Puerto Rico. More than 10.5 million cardholders have CareCredit to get the care and procedures they want and need.

How do my patients and clients apply for a CareCredit credit card?

Simply have them complete a short application in your office*, or apply online by visiting carecredit.com on their mobile device or home computer. They'll receive a decision within seconds. Your office staff can then process charges to the cardholder account immediately.

Does CareCredit provide support?

Yes. When you enroll with CareCredit, your office receives complete support. CareCredit provides your staff members with an orientation, which includes training and helpful presentation tools. Your practice also receives all the ongoing supplies you'll need at no cost.

Isn't patient financing only for expenses exceeding $1,000?

No. CareCredit can be used for purchases of all sizes, with special financing options available on purchases of $200 or more.**

How does my practice get paid?

CareCredit pays your practice within two business days by making an electronic deposit into your bank account, less a processing fee.

What if my patients or clients don't pay their bills?

Regardless of whether a cardholder defaults, you receive payment within just two business days. CareCredit is a non-recourse program, so if cardholders delay payment or default, it's not your responsibility.*** The financial relationship is between CareCredit and the cardholder.

What is Pay My Provider?

Pay My Provider is a payment portal where patients or clients can use their CareCredit card to make an online payment to your practice. This allows you to take payment 24/7, without asking the patient or client to come back into the office to pay.

Can I use Pay My Provider to help me collect outstanding balances?

Yes. With Pay My Provider, your patients or clients can pay for balances incurred today and up to 120 days after the procedure date.

Can I use Pay My Provider to collect deposits?

Yes. Pay My Provider allows patients or clients to pay for services online up to 30 days in advance of the procedure date.

How long will it take for me to receive payment via Pay My Provider?

Funds will be deposited into your account within 48 hours.

Do I need to sign up for Pay My Provider?

No. All providers who enroll with CareCredit can automatically accept online payments through Pay My Provider. Log into carecredit.com/pro to manage your account and customize your settings.

Does it cost extra for my practice to use Pay My Provider?

No. You are charged the same processing rates whether the transaction takes place in-office or online.

Which financing options are available to your patients or clients?

For payments of $200 - $5,000, three promotional financing options are available via Pay My Provider. Some options can be customized:

  • 6 Months Special Financing: Required for participation, available for purchases of $200 - $5,000
  • 12 Months Special Financing: Optional, available for purchases $200 - $5,000
  • 24 Months Special Financing: Required for participation, available for purchases $1,000 - $5,000

For all payments less than $200, standard account terms apply. The maximum amount accepted per transaction via Pay My Provider is $5,000. Log into carecredit.com/pro to manage and customize your settings.

How do I know when payment is made?

You can receive instant or once-daily email notification when a Cardholder has sent payment. To manage your email payment notification, log into carecredit.com/pro under Manage Profiles > Pay My Provider.

Can patients or clients make a partial payment of their bill on Pay My Provider?

Yes, a patient or client can pay any amount up to a maximum of $5,000 per transaction in Pay My Provider. Standard Account Terms apply to transactions less than $200. Promotional financing options are available for transactions of $200 or more.

What happens if my patient or client paid with the wrong promotional financing option?

Please contact Provider Services at 800-859- 9975 and we'll be happy to issue a refund to the cardholder so they can resubmit the payment.

How do I reconcile online payments?

We offer various reports to easily help you reconcile your payments. Log into your account at carecredit.com/pro. Under Reports > Pay My Provider, you will see — in real-time — when a patient or client has transacted online. Under Reports > Daily Funding Report, you will see when funds are transferred into your account. Pay My Provider transactions are identified on this report with promo IDs ending in "-P".

How do I let my patients or clients know I accept online payment?

CareCredit offers a variety of free resources to help you communicate Pay My Provider. Go to our resources page for more information.

My patient or client does not have a CareCredit credit card. Can they use Pay My Provider?

Patients or clients can apply for the CareCredit credit card directly on the Pay My Provider website. If approved, they can use their card immediately to make a payment to you via Pay My Provider.

I do not want to accept payments online. How do I opt out?

Log into carecredit.com/pro and visit Manage Profiles > Pay My Provider to update your settings.

If I turn Pay My Provider off, can I turn it back on again at a later time?

Yes. To start accepting online payments again, log into carecredit.com/pro and visit Manage Profiles > Pay My Provider to update your settings.

I'm missing a payment. Patient said they paid, but I don't see it.

In the CareCredit provider portal, click "Reports" in the left navigation. For online payments, click "Pay My Provider Report". For payments processed in-office, click "Credit Card Transactions". To see if an online or in-office payment was funded to your account, click "Daily Funding Report". Still having trouble? Contact CareCredit Provider Services at (800) 859-9975 Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 12:00 midnight (ET) or Saturday 10:00am - 6:30pm (ET).
