Financial Policy
Financial Policy
Key Components
For your financial policy to be comprehensive and effective, it must provide direction to both your team and patients in a detailed manner that leaves little room for misinterpretation, frustration or confusion.
The ideal practice financial policy consists of two separate written documents:
1. The Written Financial Policy
- Provides all payment options available to the patients
- Explains how your practice works with insurance benefits, deposits and other financial arrangements
- Includes any additional fees that might be the patient's responsibility such as returned checks and cancelled appointments
2. The Patient Payment Agreement Form
Reinforces your commitment to make payment for services as simple as possible and confirms the patient's agreement to pay their portion of the treatment fee.
