Lightbox
A lightbox should only be used in certain situations. Its primary purpose is to display important information, while preserving the navigation/situational context by being able to see to the active page underneath.
Lightboxes are currently being used in some areas of the CareCredit site, such as the Payment Calculator or Promotional Financing Options pages. When clicking the link to view 'Estimate Details and Terms,' a lightbox displays with a close button. A sample can be seen below:
